Minnesota Planning, a state agency, has been publishing the Minnesota Milestones since 1992. The latest edition, Minnesota Milestones 1998: Measures that Matter (August 1998), lists 19 goals for improving the state and 70 ways to measure progress towards those goals. The goals range from healthy citizens to caring communities to reasonable standards of living for all. The report is available both online and in hardcopy format and trends are shown for most indicators for 1980 and 1990 through 1996 or 1997. Also published an excellent, easy to read, booklet called Sustainable Development: The Very Idea.
